The sequel that nobody expected and everybody wanted!
In the latest addition to the PoC legacy, Captain Jack Sparrow (Depp) crosses paths with a woman from his past (Cruz), and he's not sure if it's love -- or if she's a ruthless con artist who's using him to find the fabled Fountain of Youth. When she forces him aboard the Queen Anne's Revenge, the ship of the formidable pirate Blackbeard (McShane), Jack finds himself on an unexpected adventure in which he doesn't know who to fear more: Blackbeard or the woman from his past.
This is a pretty interesting trailer indeed! Anyone who's a fan of the series will definitely find it amusing.
ReplyDeleteFor starters, they strongly emphasize the fact that this is a Jack Sparrow story - no Elizabeth Swann or Will Turner or Davy Jones coming in and meddling with any affairs. That means that people get to enjoy more of the candid and rogue characterization of Depp's character. It'll also be interesting to see why he's brought in by the British government and the involvement of Penelope Cruz and Geoffrey Rush in the story. Ian McShane's character doesn't really need much introduction, since its pretty much known Blackbeard is a diabolical pirate to begin with.
What interests me the most is the chronology of this new entry within the series. Is it set before or after the first 3 parts? Seeing as how Barbossa is a bit less regal in appearance, my money's on it being a prequel.
Still, its great to finally get wind of this new movie. Since everyone and their dog loves Jack Sparrow, you can expect high attendance at theaters for this one. Let's hope the story isn't as convoluted as previous entries ~
